José Manuel Velasco (Spain, 1965) has an extensive experience teaching and coaching executive teams and CEOs to improve their leadership by enhancing their communication skills. He combines his professional expertise garnered as head of communications at several large companies with his coaching skills and his academic career.
He was the first Spaniard to chair the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (from 2017 to 2019), the largest professional and academic PR community worldwide. As Immediate Past Chair, he is still a member of the Executive Committee of the Federation.
José Manuel Velasco’s work experience includes 30 years leading PR departments in large and listed companies, as FCC (in the field of construction and environmental services), Unión Fenosa (gas and power) and Renfe (public railways). Prior to starting work in the Public Relations Industry, he worked as a journalist in print media and radio broadcasting.
He is a Professor of Communication, Branding and Intangibles at Nebrija University and UNIR and coach of Rethoric at the IESE Business School.
