Davies Mupenda has over 30 years of experience in the Banking; Water Supply and Sanitation; and Energy sectors of Zambia with much of his work centered around public relations and marketing.
Davies has contributed to the growth of Public Relations in Zambia by serving in different capacities of the Zambia Public Relations Association (ZAPRA) before becoming the third president of the Zambian national public relations body. As president of ZAPRA, Davies set up the secretariat of the Association. He played a key role in transforming ZAPRA into the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communication (ZIPRC) which now, by law, makes it mandatory for everyone practicing Public Relations/Communication in Zambia to be affiliated with the Institute. His particular areas of interest include Customer Service, Consumer Protection and Public Affairs.
Davies has studied Public Relations, Public Administration, and Business Administration among other business studies and social sciences. He has undertaken research in Stakeholder Management. Currently, Davies works as Regional Manager at Zambia’s Energy regulator, the Energy Regulation Board. He is a fellow of ZIPRC and the African Public Relations (APRA), a Senior Member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and a member of the Institute of Directors of Zambia (IoD).
