Boris Črnič was born in 1954 and raised in Maribor. He graduated from business and mechanical engineering and started his career as a systems analyst at Metalna Maribor in 1980. Between 1996 and 1997, he worked as Head of the IT department at Svila Maribor. Since 1997, he has been Head of PR at Narodni dom Maribor.
Narodni dom Maribor is a public institute founded in 1992. Its main focus is organizing cultural festivals and events in Maribor and promoting culture on a local and global level. Narodni dom is the second biggest organizer of cultural events in Slovenia, organizing over 1800 events per year. In its first ten years of existence, its events attracted over 4.5 million visitors. Their program consists of music (Orchestra series, Chamber series, Youth series, Jazz series), theatre (Comedy series, Children’s series Kekec), and festivals (Festival Lent, Festival Maribor, and Vilinsko mesto).
