Almedina Porča graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo in 2000, from the Department of Comparative Literature and Librarianship. She is currently working as the Head of the Department of Public Relations, authorized to work as the Assistant Head of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo. For 14 years, from November 1995 until September 2009, she worked at Radio “M”. She acquired a permanent job after graduating (March 2001) and since then she has performed the function of news editor. After many years of experience in this business, and as a result of increasing the audience of Radio “M” and covering most of the frequencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, she assumed the function of the Morning Programme Editor. In addition, she worked as the Head of the Morning Programme, and author of numerous shows. Lifelong work in the media allows her the contact and have conversations with many people from the public life of her country and region, and interviews with major names in the fields of economy, politics, health, music, sports, culture, and many more.
She did a lot of reports from different countries (Italy, Greece, Germany, Turkey, Hungary, Romania…), and followed the music festivals in the region and beyond: Eurosong 2004 in Turkey, 2006 in Greece, 2008 in Serbia, HRF, FERAS and many more. She also worked and is still working as a moderator of many events, press conferences, promotions, etc. In April 2010 she became a civil servant in the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, where she took over the role of the Head of the Department of Public Relations. She manages the department that performs tasks related to public reporting on the work of the Head and municipal services, preparing press releases, organizing press conferences, preparing and providing answers and information to journalist’s questions and activities to prepare the content for the website of the Municipality (www.starigrad.ba). Given the success achieved in the establishment of the Public Relations Department, as well as the visible results of its work, the scope of activity has expanded since 2015 and it has been proclaimed to the Sector of Public Relations and Information System. Almedina became the Head of Sector who, in addition to the above-mentioned, carries out plans and programs for establishing, developing, and connecting a more complex information system, taking care of its maintenance and functioning, developing methodologies and standards for the formation, development, and maintenance of databases, etc. In 2017, the Sector was proclaimed as the Service for Public Relations and Information System, and Almedina became the Head of the Department of Public Relations, authorized to work as the Assistant Head of the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo. She was honored to be one of the lecturers at the first international conference on communication in public administration – FOCUS, held in December 2017.
At the FOCUS Conference, held in March 2018 in Sarajevo, she was a lecturer on “Communication and Public Relations in the Local Community“.
